3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 JorisPPattyn (6428) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JAN 25, 2003
Dark golden, even, tickk white head. Sweet, sugar candi, peppery and pumpkin in the nose. Taste rather neutral, underlying sweetness/malt; superficial bitterness but not hops, more vegetable bitter. Again something spicey, even hint of smoked.
Mouthfeel quite dry, a bit thin. Spicey bitterness keeps till the end, medium-long. Rather unremarkable, but no real faults. Quite OK for a beginning brewer.

Dark , cloudy yellow in colour. This is a sweet, mellow flavoured beer with a dry finish. Really nothing special, though.

750 ml bottle from State Line. Pours turbid canary with 3 fingers of fluffy white head. Nose is pale malt, hopcitrus, some funky yeasty notes, and some perfumy florals. The flavor is just OK, with notes of malt, honey, apricotty fruit, hopcitrus, slight yeasty funk, and florals. This one, to me, just didn’t taste very good at all, and the balance seemed way off. The nose wasn’t bad, but the taste was rather bland.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ughsmash (5631) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 11, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 27, 2008 Bottled at Heeren van Liedekercke. Poured a clear medium golden with a short, creamy white head. Aroma was rather bright with lemon, lighter fruits, and floral representing.. came across as sweet. Flavor found sweet toffee and floral notes along with moderately spicy yeast notes.. left an odd vegetal sweetness at the finish. Medium-bodied and a tad grainy. Decent stuff.

Bottle. Last beer of the night. Very restrictive notes. Blonde, yeasty belgian, some candied sweetness. Haven’t got the best notes, but i remember it being pretty OK.

Bottled. Fruity, sweet and a little yeasty aroma. Light hazy, golden color, beige head, very nice lace. Sweet, light bitter, fruity, apple, apricot. Sparkling, good balance but a little thin.

Straw color with a wispy off-white head. Nice continued flow of bubbles. Floral and honey notes mix with a bit of light yeast. HInts of over-ripe fruit throw things off a bit. Flavors of light fruit, pale malt, bananas, and bubble gum. Not real clean, but not dirty enough to say that something is amiss. Finish is fairly crisp and light. Linger has some wheat and light fruit components. Flavors are a bit heavy at times.

Cloudy pale gold body with a bright egg shell colored head. The aroma has funky pears along with some cinnamon and leather hints. The taste has some sweet biscuit and hay notes. There is also some canned peaches in the finish. More straw like than fruity, this also has some herbal hints in the finish. Decent with a highly carbonated body.
