Serve in Trappist glass

Dark brown colored pour. Small off-white head. Little to no lacing. Smells of raisins, alcohol and malt. Tastes of malt, raisins and coffee. Sweet and bitter with a little roasted dryness. Not bad.

Not much head soft carbonation deep brown pour aromas fruit grape like muscat spice the flavours aniseed dark grape raisin hints of cinnamon vanilla note too finish dark fruit spiciness not your average dubbell

Bottle @ Berts Bierhuis, Utrecht. Pours ruby amber with a small white head and lacings. Yeast, tobacco, little cellar, caramel and fruit. Medium bodied.

Bottle @ Benzai. Cloudy amber colour with a decent off-white head. Smells a bit sweet, quite good smell for a dubbel. Taste has a nice deep sweetness, quite balanced, quite good. Great carbo, full body.

Bottle @ home, shared with Dutchdrebus and Thompson. Nice almost clear amber color, small white to off-white head. Smell sweet and some spices. Tastes about the same plus some light caramel. Decent carbo, low to medium body.

Recht milder Malzantrunk, etwas kraftlos. Statt der erwarteten Intensitätssteigerung im Mittelteil bleibt das Bier weiter mild, eine leichte Kräuternote verschwindet schnell wieder im Nichts. Die dunkelmalzige, etwas ins Röstige gehende Note gefällt, ist aber viel viel zu mild. Entäuschend. Test vom 30.3.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,6,7,8,7,7 - 7,50

Bottle from Bierparadijs. Dark brown body with puffy head. Nose of malts, sugar, spices. Taste of caramel, malts, sweet. Pretty good dubbel.
