Never thought much of ginger beer so this was a most pleasant surprise. Lovely beer for a summer evening but be careful. It is stronger than it feels like.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 fiulijn (10000) - Como, ITALY - MAY 15, 2003
Hazy blond color. Triple with an almost fruity aroma. Strong body, leaning on the sweet side, with notes of muscadel; still some fruitness in the finish. Interesting and original.

Fles, 33 cl. Bier geproefd bij Jerre.
Sterk gekruid bier. Donker gouden kleur
bijna amber. De smaak is licht zoet maar de gember komt te krachtig uit voor mij.
Maar is niet slecht.

27/07/2011 33cl bottle @ home - BB: 30/3/2012 (2011-345) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!
Cloudy dark yellow to beige beer under creamy solid white head, stable and bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, lychees, candi sugar, canned fruits with syrup, exotic spices (star anise and ginger). MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: not as sweet as the aroma would have you expecting, very malty, some hops and spices, and just a touch of root-beer. Aftertaste: sweet malts and some canned fruits, but also a certain acidity to balance, spices again. No doubt it’s the ginger causing this taste complexity, although I don’t recognise it like fresh ginger roots.

Nice new approach to ginger beer. This beer is triple-ish with a lot of ginger in both aroma and taste. It's a sweet beer and I find notes of elderflower in it. But first and foremost, this is ginger. If you don´t like ginger, don´t even consider this beer

Bottled. Pale orange colour with lots of floating particles in it. Aroma is barnyard, spices, sweetish malts. Ginger bomb! Flavour is honey, ginger, yeast, malts and hops. A very pleasant and well made beer.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) I believe this was De Graal’s first beer. And -atypically- it’s a ginger beer. Very beautiful, amber colour, hazy with a large amount of yeast-sediment. But it’s the completely massive head that leaves the biggest impression. It stands an inch high in the glass and never disappears completely. Unusually welldone. Ginger beer can be a mixed delight, but this might be the best I’ve ever had. The ginger adds a piquant edge to an already good ale. High carbonation. 010203
