a sim rate: It smells remarkably perfumey. Almost like floral gums. There’s a definite floral scent that is great as you’re taking a sip. The taste is perfumey as well, although it doesn’t spoil the ginger flavour that’s subtle. The alcohol content is much higher than you’d expect when tasting. Loooong finish. The palate is really full and makes for a fine drinking experience.

33 cl bottle. Yeast in bottom. Light amber colour with a nice white fluffy head. Great spicy aroma of ginger. Very tasteful ale with notes of ginger that ends in a nice warm way.

Bottle kindly passed onto me from Vale Brewery 31-01-08 Bottle hazy golden pour, ginger is in evidence straight away, although this beer is also quite sweet, but then you notice that there is a nice spiciness to this and the yeast also pitches in but its unmistakeably a ginger beer albeit a slightly sweetish one, I liked this beer.

Bottle. Large fluffy white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Color was pale golden like with some cloudiness. Aroma was an excellent balance of spice, ginger and sweet fruity notes with a mild underlying malty feel. Quite balanced and well brewed. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and mild dry texture with a hint of alcohol. Moderated sweet flavor with a hint of acidic and bitterness. Mild ginger sweet average duration finish.

A blond coloured beer slightly hazy, a small white head and few carbonation. A strong spicy aroma (cinamon?) Full palate sparkling a bit. Finish is sweet bitter treating the tongue with a nice tickling feeling. Very good one.

bottle, yellow/golden colour with very nice foamy head. Smell: some yeasty, ginger smell. Taste: very rich: alcohol, yeasty, grainy, dry.. Surprises me that it’s that ok!

750ml bottle. This is REAL ginger ale. Best before 05/09. Pours a very intriguing gold with a nice big white head that leaves some nice lacing as it quickly dissipates, it is clear with yeast floaties. The smell is mainly of ginger root. It also has the typical yeast twang form a belgian pale ale. It is reminiscent of gruit and sahti with no sign of hops. The ginger isn’t as integral in the flavor. It tastes like a sweeter than normal Belgian blonde. It is sweet, almost cloying. Not as complex as I would have liked in the taste department. It is better than come other gruit ales but the exclusion of hops always seems you left there wanting more. The mouthfeel, though a bit cloying, is decent enough. It has decent drinkability. Overall it is a good spiced beer but like most it ends up being to sweet and un-complex. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-23-2010 01:17:44
