3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 crossovert (2547) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 4, 2011
750ml bottle. This is REAL ginger ale. Best before 05/09.
Pours a very intriguing gold with a nice big white head that leaves some nice lacing as it quickly dissipates, it is clear with yeast floaties.
The smell is mainly of ginger root. It also has the typical yeast twang form a belgian pale ale. It is reminiscent of gruit and sahti with no sign of hops.
The ginger isn’t as integral in the flavor. It tastes like a sweeter than normal Belgian blonde. It is sweet, almost cloying. Not as complex as I would have liked in the taste department. It is better than come other gruit ales but the exclusion of hops always seems you left there wanting more.
The mouthfeel, though a bit cloying, is decent enough. It has decent drinkability.
Overall it is a good spiced beer but like most it ends up being to sweet and un-complex.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 caesar (3724) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - FEB 6, 2007
Slightly hazy golden color, with a lot of very small pieces flying around, and with a short white head. Aroma of a nice triple, but obviously with a lot of spice, ginger in this case, some citrus as well. Also quite spicy taste, sweet, mild bitter, some honey perhaps. Not bad though it might become a bit annoying after a while.

The ginger is not very obvious due to the dryhopping technique used in the production for this beer. The ginger still adds a nice spicey touch to the brew.

Golden color, clear. Strong ginger aroma. Malty ginger flavor. Medium bodied. Sweet with not even a hint of alcohol. I don't like ginger (=gember), but it fits with this beer and it is not annoying. Clean palate. Still not a beer I would buy more often.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 lachesis (758) - St Idesbald, BELGIUM - JUN 8, 2005
Hazy amber color with a nice big head. light maltyness in the nose with a good integrated touch of ginger with peppery caracter. The taste is smooth, lively, yeasty and has a malty edge. The ginger is lefting this beer up in an original way. The afthertaste is light bitter with some pepper touches and yeast accents in the end.

Bottle. A golden coloured pour with a reasonable white head. Herby, floral aroma. Tastes floral, ginger, spice, slightly sweet. Quite a drinkable beer.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 maxbeer (118) - ITALY - MAR 7, 2007
[bottle] Clear golden colour; aroma is a bit yeasty-spicy with some bread crust. In the mouth it is sweet, a bit spicy, with some ginger coming out in the finish. The ginger spiciness is subtle; it can be considered as a good (but not exceptionally outstanding) triple

75cl bottle-thanks to jtclockwork for sharing–pours a foamy white head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is lots of sage, light/medium malt-sweet. Interesting. Taste is sage, light/medium malt-sweet/honey. OK carbonation.
