Bottle, october 08. Hazy golden yellow color with a medium, white head. Spicy aroma with some graininess and fruit. Very perfumy but a bit sweet and cloying. Fruity, spicy. Not as sweet as expected from the nose. Kind of unidimensional. Medium, vivid, enveloping flavor. Alcohol well hidden but warming. Nice, warming tripel. A tad too gingery.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ChainGangGuy (3682) - Canton, Georgia, USA - NOV 21, 2008
Appearance: Pours a hazy, yellow body with a smallish, white head. Some sediment rolling around in there, too.
Smell: Belgian malts coated in candi sugar, honey, spices, hunks of fruit, and even some flower petals.
Taste: Pale maltiness augmented with a kick of candi sugar sweetness. Fruity tastes of lemons and pears. A tad floral. Spoonful of orange blossom honey. The tiniest pinch of Chinese Five Spice. Mild hop bitterness. Slight yeastiness. I must say the 9% ABV is well hidden. Sweetish, fruity finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-high, effervescent carbonation.
Drinkability: My my, that’s not half bad! Reasonably tasty and surprisingly easy to drink down.
