3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 bb (4577) - Alamo, California, USA - MAY 9, 2008
Bottle. Golden beer with a nice off-white head. Biscuity, yeasty, estery aroma. Nice sweet malt, yeast, and light fruit flavor. Medium body. LIngering yeast, banana, fruity esters, and a bit of earth. Very drinkable.

750mL bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Light hazed gold, creamy off white head. Flowery ginger aromas ride light notes of honey bread and lemon. CItric sugar and ginger tones round to a yeasty floral finish. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, sugary spiced finish. Decent stuff, but not really true to style in my mind...

My Bottom Line :
Prominent ginger and lemongrass join this tropical Tripel’s spicy hops in building quite the citrusy flavor profile.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam tops the cloudy blond with plenty of yeast particles (even though the bottle’s been standing up right for weeks).
-A touch of alcohol heat reminds you that this is not a beach brew.
-Underlying banana esters add some depth.
-Malt flavors are present but dominated by the citrusy spiciness.
-A thriving leafy hop bitterness thankfully balances out the spices in the finish.
Bottle.

750mL bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Light golden, very carbonated, fizzy white head, with quick dispersion. Aroma is alcohol, floral-gardenia confirmed by Aaron’s wife. Flavor is spicy, ginger, candi sugar, less alcohol than in nose. light mouth feel, tingly.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hotstuff (3213) - Indiana, USA - AUG 10, 2008
Bottle with a best before date of 7/2009. Medium sized white fizzy head that mostly diminished, lots of floaties, very little carbonation, hazy, and a golden, yellow hue. The aroma was lightly malty, spicy, fruity, sweet, yeasty, and coriander. The flavor was sweet, fruity, spicy, lightly malty, slightly bitter, coriander, and a short dry finish. Spritzy, tingly mouthfeel and medium bodied. Okay for the style, but there are much better of this style IMO, ABV was well masked IMO, worthy of a try, and might be interested in drinking this one again.

Pale straw-gold necator supports a foam cloud. The nose is a mix of fruit and spice- dried apricot, white raisins, musty and yeasty. Toffee and spice on the tongue… tropical fruits, lychee, melon, citrus pith, lemon Ricola… tinged with a vegetal/celery seed character. Sweetish. Genial earthy-minty bitterness. Full, airy mouthfeel. Could stand to be drier.

in bottle from beertopia. chunky debris in an orange hazy dark gold color with a big white poofy head. citrus orangey aroma and a big pepper taste on the tongue. a bit chalky at the finish with a sweet and sour abbreviation. this is very good for seven dollars a bottle.

Tap at Kafe België, Utrecht: Pretty good example of the Tripel style, its has some orange and spicy taste.
