Botella de 330ml. Copa Túlipa. Saboreada en ene´12. Color dorado y apariencia turbia. Espuma blanca y corona túpida que se disipa lentamente. Caramelo, azúcar y notas de canela en nariz. Entrada dulce y sabor de moderado malteado. Sensación picante, especiada y de suave cálidez. Paladar aterciopelado. 330ml bottle. Tulip glass. Enjoyed on jan´12. Golden color, foggy appearance. White froth. Close, slowly dissipated, crown. Candies, sugar & hints of cinnamon to the nose. Sweet upfront, mildy malty flavor. Peppery, spicy & soft warming sensation. Velvet palate.

Bottle. Clear golden color, medium white head. Aroma of lemon peel, banana, subtle caramel. Taste starts fruity, with lemon and banana, then a bit of booze. Decent.

This is decidedly not a sweet style of Belgian Tripel; the beer is more a hoppy, herbal, and spicy example rather than sweet or fruity. Aromas of grass hops, dried herbs, table grapes, and bready malt lead into flavors of coriander, pepper, hay, stone fruit, and bready, grainy malt. The beer is fully attenuated, very dry, no obvious sweetness is apparent, and the hops and herbs contributed light-medium bitterness. Medium-full in weight without the benefit of any sugar, and carbonation is medium to medium-high, but still smooth. Hazy, golden in color, and capped by nearly an inch of off-white head that settles to a dusty sheet. Overall, a different kind of Tripel, and one that I really appreciate. I’m less of a fan of the sweeter style of Tripel, and I’m pleased that this one is dry, hoppy, and herbal.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2012 My Bottom Line :
Prominent ginger and lemongrass join this tropical Tripel’s spicy hops in building quite the citrusy flavor profile.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam tops the cloudy blond with plenty of yeast particles (even though the bottle’s been standing up right for weeks).
-A touch of alcohol heat reminds you that this is not a beach brew.
-Underlying banana esters add some depth.
-Malt flavors are present but dominated by the citrusy spiciness.
-A thriving leafy hop bitterness thankfully balances out the spices in the finish.

Bottles.
