On tap at PINT Winterbierfestival ’12. Dark amber brown beer, dense off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, very fruity, not a hint of the promised smoke, typical sweet barley wine with some roasted malts. Flavour idem. Nice thick sweet beer.

Creamy, very sweet. Liquorice, some smoke. Spices. Alcohol is obvious, but not the 10%. Bottle from Van Erp.

0,33 liter fles. verrassend goed bier. Ook ondanks zijn hoge alcohol percentage best goed te drinken.

Bottle. dark brown color. Malt, ontbijtkoek, raisin and only faint hints of smoke in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with ontbijtkoek, rye bread, hints of caramel and the faintest hint of smoke. Alcoholic. I would have expected more smoke.

Sampled @ PINT Winterbierfestival, Gouda 2012. Hazy dark orange to red color, small beige head. Smell no smoke at all, just malts, alcohol and sweetness. taste alcohol , malts, sweetness and lightly some herbs or spices. Too sweet in my opinion. Decent carbonation, medium body.

Murky brown, small head. No smoke, some apple, bring malt base with brown sugar. Sweet, fruity body, liquor. Bit of wood. Expected more of this. (At Pint Winterbier Festival 2012)
