golden brown colour make amazing geometric figures when you drink in a tumbler, thiny head that dissapear soon, but the liquid in the glass has a great body and adequate carbonation. Taste has a perfect balance between roasted malts, and hops the result a nice combination of caramel and gentile bitterness in the mouth, The end sensations in the tongue and palate uniques.

Bottled. Sweet perfume and flowers aroma. Lovely! Amber color, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, very malty, lots of hops, light sourness and citric (orange). Quite warming for a beer with only 6% ABV.

Bottle:
Medium off white head, disappears really slow and a leaves a closed off white lacing on top of an dark orange darker amber colored beer.
Smell barley, barley malts, soap, shampoo, soapy barley wine.
Taste is a very nice mix of barleys, barley malts, some hops and floral hop bitters, herbs, autumnal herbs, floral herbs, mint herbs, some darker fruits and sweets but just a hint. Very nice balanced.
Aftertaste of low bitterness with a barley and batley malted sweetness. Nit sweet but nicely balanced, again.
Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, good medium bodied and a light watery light creamy texture.
This is a nice beer, specially when watching a band play, could absorb liters of this stuff easily.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2006 50cl. From the brewery De Hemel in Nijmegen, Netherlands. Originally this was their summer beer but is now avaliable all year. Golden with parfume and fruits. White head. Sweet and comftable. Perfect for a hot summer day. The best from the Netherlands yet!

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2008 Draught at the Arandsnest, Amsterdam. Bright copper color with creamy head. Sweet parfumy aroma with orange, pepper and spices. The same elements are present in the taste along with berryish twist, malt, vanilla and some buttery taste. Very tasty and balanced.
Tasted again from bottle in December 2007: Less fermentation aromas and flavors, more malt and caramel 6-3-6-3-13. The draught sample was definitely better.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 bierkoning (8107) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - NOV 29, 2003
UPDATED: JUN 28, 2008 Malt and apricot aroma. Full bodied. Apricot flavor at first, followed by a strong maltiness and a fair deal of hops. Some licorice. Just a bit sweetish and a hint of alcohol. Lovely well balanced beer, emphasizing the fruity maltiness. Expensive ($ 5,- per half litre in the shop), but well worth the money.
From tap (Arendsnest Amsterdam) the beer disappointed somewhat. Traubenzucker in the aroma. Flowery flavor, somewhat perfumed. Reasonably well hopped and seasoned, just a bit on the sweet side.
I was also less satisfied with a bottle tasted in 2008. Orange color, slightly perfumed aroma of tangerine and coreander. Sweetish, perfumed spicy flavor. malt and coreander. Citrus fruit. Not unpleasant, but too perfumed for my taste.
