Countbeer (1944) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAY 26, 2012
Bottle: Medium off white head, disappears really slow and a leaves a closed off white lacing on top of an dark orange darker amber colored beer. Smell barley, barley malts, soap, shampoo, soapy barley wine. Taste is a very nice mix of barleys, barley malts, some hops and floral hop bitters, herbs, autumnal herbs, floral herbs, mint herbs, some darker fruits and sweets but just a hint. Very nice balanced. Aftertaste of low bitterness with a barley and batley malted sweetness. Nit sweet but nicely balanced, again. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, good medium bodied and a light watery light creamy texture. This is a nice beer, specially when watching a band play, could absorb liters of this stuff easily.

Hazy slightly pale amber colour, white head. Fruity aroma, orange peel, apricot, citrus fruits. Wheat and some caramel. Flavour of sweet malts, some yeast character and fruity apricot and citrus. Finish slightly bitter and very fruity.
I like this beer very much when it’s fresh, but there have been older versions around that I didn’t enjoy quite as much.

Rated on 20110802.
Hazy copper colour with a small head. Fruits, mostly apricot and citrus on the nose, also some notes of malts. Flavor is malts and apricot, notes of citrus. Something seems to be missing for this to be an enjoyable beer.

500 ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere. Batch 7203, BBE 31.12.2011.
Pours a copper colour with a very small and thin white head. Aroma of strong apricot, citrus and malts. Flavour of apricot, malts, some floral hops and barnyard notes. Dry, malty finish. This should be more refreshing and less malty.

Sweetish and a bit stale perfume-like aroma with citrus. Sweet flavour too with citrus and a bit bitter aftertaste. Some candi sugar and orange peel too. Good and drinkable, but could be more refreshing.

500 ml swingtop bottle, kindly shared by my beerpal Ivar. ABV is 6,5%. Hazy amber colour, minimal head. Aroma of sweet wort and caramel, hints of oak and honey. Low carbonation. The flavour is not as sweet as the aroma makes you expect, but is still malty with hints of caramel, and has tolerable hops in the finish.
