3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not a bad smoked beer. The smokiness apparent, but not overly pronounced. Lightly sweet, some caramel and brown sugar. Tried at the brewery on my trip to Nijmegen in 2016.

Donker oranje amber bier met een goede witte schuim kraag. Ruikt gerookt, moutig. Niet te gerookt. Smaakt ook prima. Gerookt, bitter, mout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught (PINT Bokbier Festival 2015, Amsterdam) - A hazy rich amber in colour. Smoky and surprisingly hoppy aroma with notes of ash, beech and peach. Nicely balanced taste with malty, smoky and hoppy notes combining to good effected. The smokiness is more subtle than I was expecting.

Sampled draft @ Arendsnest during Carnivale Brettanomyces #4. Hazy amber, orange, red fruits hued appearance with lacing white head. Nose is dull metallic with light malt, sugar, quite non-descript,… Taste is odd sugar, malty, candy, sweet malts, caramel, smoke is very low, light wood,… Med. body. A bit dull & somewhat too sweet, smoke is too low. Okay but boring and too bland. (Thanks for sharing Kermis, Maakun & tlahav).

Bottle. Pours hazy darker orange in color with an off-white head. Burnt grainy notes, old rubber, hints of garden fruityness and smoky notes in aroma. Bitter and sweet notes in taste with a touch of smoke as well. Quite soft mouthfeel. Faint spicyness and malty sweetness in the end. Pleasant one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Backlog rating. Bottle at Caspar tasting at Chriso’s, London. A well balanced smoked beer with a nice malty sweet base and some roasty bitterness as the base for a balanced woody smokiness. Quite liked it
