patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA May 19, 2009 tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam - Pours lightly hazy amber. It smells malt and some citrus. The flavor is sweet and fruity with a dry, mildly hopped finish. IPA? I’d not have guessed that. It’s a tasty brew, but doesn’t have the hop load I’d expect from the style. Borresteijn (1349), Amstelveen, Netherlands Apr 24, 2009 On tap at Arendsnest as Rafael Lentebier. Slightly hazy amber colour, thin white head. Aroma is sweet, honey, malts, fruity and floral. Flavour is soft, honey sweetness, malty, light alcoholic, soft bitter finish. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel, medium to fullbodied. This was more like a sweet heller bock than an IPA to me. Really good beer. bierkoning (5989), La Tropica, Netherlands Apr 21, 2009 Tap @ Arendsnest. Light amber color. Tangerine and oily hops in the aroma. Light amber color. Firm oily flowery hopbitter flavor with tangerine and grapefruit. The influence of the use of American hops is noticeable. Clean and well built beer.
