Bottle @ Café Frape. Pours a clear blonde beer with a small bright white head on top. Aroma is wheat, grassy hops and a touch of zesty yeast. Flavor is mild bitter, dry and grassy. Long, bitter finish. The hops are definitely present in the beer, some spiced influences. Decent example of the style.

33cl - Pale yello, white foam. Aroma is very flat. Taste is dominated by the spicy yeasty character. A lot of carbonation. A normal brew!

Pours a slightly unclear beer with a good white frothy head. Cant smell much. Watery, metalic and yeast. Tastes bitter, hops. Very unbalanced. Thin body, watery and dry texture and an average carbo. Not so bitter for one of the most bitter beers of belgium. Or is that not really true? Hmmmmm.

Bottle at Margriet. Clear, golden, lots of bubbles. Tall, pillowy head. Hoppy nose, grass, hay, some orange. Bready malts. Hoppy, nicely bitter flavor, but very thick and bready malts. Fruit and hoppy, minerally, but not so distinctive.

Een biertje dat er erg smakelijk uitziet, met een goudblonde kleur en een mooie schuimkraag die lang blijft staan. Helaas is de bitterheid te overheersend aanwezig.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a big and slightly off-white foamy head. Caramel-malty, slightly yeasty aroma with notes of rye, vanilla, grains and a whiff of smoke. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Mildly toasted malty taste with notes of caramel, herbal hops, a grainy touch and again traces of smoke; sweet-bitter grainy cara-malty finish with herbal hops. Quite uncommon brew from Belgium; tastes a bit like a specialty grain brew from Bamberg. 29.I.13
