MiP (6017), Flensburg, Germany Oct 12, 2007 Draught, 6.3%. Almost clear amber colour. Small tan head. The flavour is slightly salty with a hint of bread. Slightly sour hoppiness. Good mouthfeel. OK. TBone (5114), Pori, Finland Jul 18, 2008 Bottled
Slightly hazy amber-yellow color, good off-white head. Bready-biscuity aroma. For 6%+ beer very thin mouthfeel. Grassy-lemony hops, sweet maltyness, a bit citrusy fruity in the finish. Sourness and honey sweetness in the aftertaste. Very unbalanced and not really pleasant, although I liked that sweet edge at the end. bierkoning (4917), La Tropica, Netherlands Dec 25, 2007 Back on the market! Orange blonde color. Hints of citrus and licorice in the aroma. Sweetish flavor, rather thin, with coreander and hints of licorice. Somewhat spicy aftertaste. Tasty without being world shocking. JorisPPattyn (4490), Antwerpen, Belgium Jun 1, 2006 Light amber beer, yeast sticking to the bottom; smallish, very even and off-white head, leaving good lace. Sharp, spicey-sweet initial aroma, too short to identify (? fries fat ?), then classical Triple ingredients: yeast, citrus and a lot of candi sugar. Again some fat aroma, as for deepfrying Belgian style. Fruity, citrussy, but very in a very dull way, as if the requirements have been ticked of. Nothing wrong, nothing uplifting. Finishes just dull-sweet, not even malty. A bit dry, but not very much so. Quite gassy, it being so bland that CO² starts determining the aftertaste. Warming up, this blends with a faint vinegary flavour. I’m starting to see why this brewery failed. I quite liked their Veldwachter staple beer on draught, but this beer misses heart, misses all passion. Dull, if technically OK. And the brewpub was closed when it ought to be open, no website available... Doomed for failure. acrdz (4361), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jun 17, 2006 Clear amber colored body with a very slight white head, but lively and active carbonation. Slightly sour vegetabvle nose, semi-sour grains in the aroma. Flavor is light yeast and candy sugar, pretty much the most common simple sweet flavors seen in a hundred other belgian ales.
