330ml traditional bottle poured into my favorite Grimbergen chalice. This is a fair Belgium Blond. As a matter of fact, that’s the sort of beer that if you drink it blindfold you will say: "That’s a Belgium Blond beer" ;) A: Cristal gold color. S: Nice malt bouquet. A little by smoky (but I do not know why). You can really fell the Belgium yeasts (very characteristic) T: Quite dry if compared with other Belgium Blonds like Leffe, for example. The alcohol is very evident considering its low ABV (6%). M: Also dry. Evident ash aftertaste. D: Good. Less sweet then other Belgium Blonds. However it tastes like it was stronger which compromises a bit its drinkability. [ BA Review @ 1/9/2010 ]

Listed as this while in Antwerp. Pours golden colored with a fluffy white head. Aroma of honey, light apples, some yeast funk. Flavor follows this closely with a sweet and pleasant flavor that includes apples and pears, and ends with a bit of yeast funk. Light bodied and easy drinking with medium plus carbonation. Thought this was significantly better than the regular De Koninck.

Blonde version of the famous ’bolleke’ Koninck since 2003 but abolished again in 2010. Snow white head, golden blonde colour, malty, bit of butter, orange peel, grassy hops, yeasty, bitterish finish; general flavour profile was not even that different from its renowned older amber-coloured brother.

BBE was 2½ years ago… The beer starts smooth, mild and quite hoppy. The mainpart is slightly sourish, hoppy-fresh and very bitter. In the aftertaste bitter aroma with slightly smooth yeast…
--> I have to try this one fresh!! 12/10/11/11

Tap @ Bon Viviant, Riga. Clear amber color. Medium size, thick white head, stays. Alcohol, malty, grainy and mild fruity notes in aroma. Slightly sweet, buttery, toffee, malty and alcohol in flavor. Slick mouthfeel. Dead yeast in aftertaste. Slightly messy and off-balance.

Bouteille 330ml.
