Bottle @ RBESG2005. Quite old bottle. Moldy and acidic nose, quite oxidized. Dark amber body, small white head. Sweet flavor, with some nice fruityness, ends slightly alcoholic.

11.2oz bottle..... poured into a glass. Nice spice/wood smell. Very murky light brown beer. Lots of floaties even after a very slow pour. Small lace head. Yeast spice with mellow fruit abroad. Alc is almost not there, very well hidden. The warm after taste reassures the 8% abv is there. Great brew other than the floaties..... I didnt know it was retired. Had I known that I would have picked up the rest of the 4 pack.

thanks to lumpy for this one.. Pours a dark ruby red with chunks of yeast floating throughout.. Spicy and dark fruit aroma with Figs, raisins and some yeast. Flavor is malty sweet with some spiciness and a bit of yeast.. Medium mouthfeel with yeast chunks I felt the need to chew.

(Bottle 33 cl) Born as "Cuvée Antwerpen" when this city was the cultural capital of the EU in 1993. Hazy, dark amber - not much head. Very soft mouthfeel, some caramel and spices. And also some typical De Koninck fruitiness. A bit like what you would expect if you took the standard De Konick and added another 3% alcohol. Nice one. 260695

aroma and flavor is some bananas and apples, this was enjoyable but got a bit "skunky" as it warmed.

Pours a hazy deep amber with a 1/4 inch off-whit ehead. Some persistent lacing. Aroma is very fruity with hints of barnyard funk. Lightly bitter. Tastes fruity. Hints of sour apple. A bit funky. Bitter. A crisp biting bitterness. Blends nicely with the funk and the fruity. Crisp in the mouth and lightly sticky. A bit of a sweet aftertaste. Pretty tasty. A good Belgian ale.
