3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 DYCSoccer17 (3012) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 5, 2005Best before Oct 7, 2004. Sort of peppery yeasty aromas with mild citrus notes in there as well. Not really digging the smell too much. Honey orange color with lots of suspended yeast floaties and a smallish white head. Sort of a peppery bready start turning somewhat doughy with lots of sweetness to finish. I don’t know...this one is just sort of bland. Alcohol is hidden very nicely though.

10/10/12. 11.2oz bottle, 2004 vintage, from Walt... wtf, Walt? He sent me this entirely randomly as a thanks for sending him beer that he paid for! What a dude! Hazy, yeasty, dark amber, ruby pour with a very small ring of khaki head and no lacing. Yeast, burnt caramel, oxidation, and what reminds me of a shot of whiskey or something in the aroma. Sweet caramel entry with plenty of yeast character followed by more oxidation and a lingering aspect of burnt nuts and burnt popcorn - not in the buttery sense, but the actual burnt popcorn sense. Interesting. Glad to try it!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 yemenmocha (658) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - AUG 15, 2009
Review transfer from personal notes.
Beautiful light amber color, transparent. Rocky head retains exceptionally well.
Aroma is very... aromatic, from a good distance away from the glass as well. But alas, is this Irish Spring soap or is it a beer? Seriously, the lime flavoring in this beer gives it a bready/soapy lime aroma that makes you think you’re in the shower! Yikes!
Taste is the most disappointing part of this beer. Smell, appearance and drinkability are great. This is a weak, lime flavored amber ale with a slight resemblance to american wheats (wheat as an ingredient, but virtually no characteristics of a wheat beer that you would find from Germany).
Finish isn’t terribly long. But it’s a refreshing beer. Almost light enough to qualify for lawnmower status.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Christian (9697) - Odense, DENMARK - JUN 12, 2009
1993 Cuvee Antwerpen. Dark amber with a small off-white head. Very dusty an mouldy, and vineous. To old to rate properly, I just wanted to have it in my records. Numbers don’t reflect my experience but are simply the average score at this time. I’ll be looking for a fresher one for a re-rate.

Sampled on draught at the Brasserie V in Madtown: Pours a murky brown colour with a HUGE tan head. Aroma is sort of sour, yeasty with bready malts and cinnamon on the nose. Taste is sort of tart but rich, flavors all around, nuts, pear and citrus notes.
