4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 EithCubes (3340) - GERMANY - APR 25, 2006
Draught @ Beertje, where it was the beer of the month. I’m quite a huge fan of this. Rich amber pour. Sweet aroma of almonds/amaretto and marzipan. Vanilla and caramel, touch of bubblegum sweetness (this is probably too sweet for most, though I didn’t find it to be excessive). Velvety smooth, a dream on draught. Subtle and quaffable. Unique!
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Vac (2442) - Soon to be back in San Diego, California, USA - MAR 14, 2006
Pours with a deep amber body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s sweet and caramelly with a nice baked apple note and lots of spice (Nutmeg, cinamon, allspice). It was like a liquid dessert. Medium bodied smooth and slightly dry.

De Wildemans in Amsterdam. Pours a rich amber/brown color with a small but thick head and decent amount of lacing. Aroma is very spice like with lots of nutmeg and cinnamon coming through. Almost smells like some fancy christmas time bread. Flavor is like desert in my mouth, very strong spice hints (nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla) with banana and apple hints coursing through-out. Very smooth on the palate and incredibly easy to drink. This was my first beer upon my arrival in Amsterdam and it was fantastic!!!

Draught @ Brugge Bear.Clear amber with a creamy white head. Woody, almost cedar aroma with cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, almond and pear. Flavors like a mulled apple cider with dried fruit cake, cherry and a bit of orange zest. Earthy, spicy finish. Very interesting.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 oberabcbbsok (685) - Hoboken, BELGIUM - APR 28, 2007
Tasted it from draft as well from bottle. Very unusual tast for de Koninck and a lot of people will not like it but for me it was very nice.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - DEC 4, 2006
I sipped this and said, tastes like almonds, other people thought I was crazy, minutes later the brewer came around and told us it was brewed with almonds, fancy that. Nice sweet taste that reminds me of almond maccaroons (sp?) kinda almond and vanilla taste. Medium body with a light dry finish. Some cherry flavor grows as the beer warms, very interesting beer that would make a great christmas or holiday brew, but it was being served in august.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 caesar (3748) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - FEB 12, 2006
Tap, Deugniet den Bosch. Clear amber color, thick creamy off-white head. Aroma is spicy, cinnamon, sweet amber malt, bubblegum. Slightly sour taste, sweet, cinnamon indeed, bit flowery, some chestnut. Good balance, though quite sweet. I liked it actually.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 marcus (4055) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 5, 2006
On tap at Brugs Beertje. Amber ale poured with a short white head. This beer is unique to the point of being bizarre. Tastes like roasted chestnuts saturated with brown sugar, cinnamon and various spices, with a strong aroma to match. Would probably make a good dessert beer, but was a bit too sweet for my taste.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 jerohen (1793) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2006
On draft at Kafe Belgie, Utrecht. Clear amber coloured. Fruity aroma with some vanilla. On the sweet side. As caesar mentioned, this is like liquid apple pie! Nice, but does get boring after awhile.

Tap at Gingerman, Dallas, TX. Pours thin and amber with little head. Aroma is spicy, with notes of cinammon, orange, and coriander. Flavor is a spicy orange peel with hints of nutmeg, pumpkin, and cinammon. Palate is watery but coating. Instresting; unusual flavor.
