COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This special ale has been developed in honour of the brewing in the late Middle Ages when the farmers could not work in the fields during the winter months and therefore had time to devote themselves to brewing ale. Winter Koninck is a deep amber-coloured top-fremented ale with 6.5% Alc. vol. and a full-bodied flavour.

Aroma - orange peel, cinnamon, toasted grains, malty, slight hint of cherry. Taste - slight sourness, balanced by sweet malt, some biscuit, orange peel & spice. Enjoyable

Bu en bouteille de 33cl, une couleur ambrée presque brune, une mousse peu colorée qui tombe très vite. Cette bière n’a pas vraiment d’intérêt elle a pas de nez et surtout son goût est très peu prononcé. Moyen donc

Bottle at home. Russet red colour but not much in the way of a head. Bubblegum and pear drops in the aroma with some carried through to the taste, which is balanced by a hint of peppery hops. Sweet fruity malt is present throughout. Pleasant, mellow ale.

As de koninck winter. A fruity sweet aroma of berries. Flavor is sweet and spiced with little grapelike bitterness. Color is reddish brown with a white head.

330ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours dark copper, thin white head, doesn’t hang around. Aromas are mostly light brown sugar, faint spice. Was expecting a darker, spicier brew for winter. Taste is light sweet, bit raisiny. It’s OK, but nothing special.
