2007 vintage. I enjoyed this at Delilah’s 12th annual Winter Beer Tasting in Chicago, IL. Lighter and more crisp than other winter ales of it’s kind, enjoyable but just standard.

Great aroma, red fruit, bananes, wild. Taste is slightly on the bitter wide, takes away too much of the nice stuff.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jaghana (2100) - Strasbourg (France), FRANCE - NOV 20, 2010
Bottle 33cl. A clear amber beer with low head. Smell is similar to German winterbier. Aroma is relatively dry, it taste as done with lower yeast like a marzen bier. Very less interesting than expected, low body, less spice presence, just malty and grassy with lager notes and bitter and over riped finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MoritzF (7402) - Bochum, GERMANY - NOV 4, 2010
(bottle, 33cl) Clear, ruby brown colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet and toasty malty aroma with loads of caramel, a rather restrained fruit character and a tinge of earthy herbal hops. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Moderately toasted malty and slightly sugary taste with caramel and shy fruity and spicy notes; sweet malt-accented finish with a tinge of dried fruits and discreetly hoppy spice. Likeable but also a bit one-sided brew. 04.XI.10

Bottle: Poured a dark mahogany with a nice head. The aroma was sweet, and spicy. The flavor was very sweet and very spicy. Hints of cinnamon and sugar. Overall, a little sweet but good for a Christmas beer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 lagermonkey (725) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JUN 4, 2010
One of the several bottles of Christmas or "Kerst" beers I brought back from Belgium.
Kind of an amber brown in the glass with a thin ivory head. Some floaties in the beer, doesn’t look like yeast but more like coagulated protein. Not so appetizing! Fruity maltiness and an earthy, yeasty aroma. Prunes and baked apples with just a hint of oakiness.
Earthy and spicy in the mouth, a bitterness in the finish. Cinnamon and clove is prominent and a sweetness that hints at candy sugar used in the brewing process. More candy sugar in the finish, a mild bitterness accompanies the sweetness in the finish.
Man, a lot of spice in this ale! Fruity, sweet and spicy pretty much sums it up.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Abio (1133) - Waasland, BELGIUM - MAY 23, 2010
Bottle at home. Redish, dark amber coloured. Good head, but won’t hold. Hard to smell a thing. Spices, cookies and some liquor and cola it seems. Buttery taste. Weird. Buttercookies and spices. Not bad, but a bit watery and something less pleasant at the finish also.
