WISEGUY572 (1103), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 22, 2008 A very nice Belgian with nothing extraordinary going for it. Ruby brown, very small head, wonderful lacing. Sweet winter fruits, dates and figs, dark malt, a touch of winter spice, and a bitter finish.
BoBoChamp (651), Gent, Belgium Aug 31, 2008 33cl, from Geers Oostakker, complex Winter brew, balanced, clear, nearly no head, the best of the De Koninck range Beerman6686 (724), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 31, 2008 Poured reddish brown with a small off white head. Aroma was spicy, some cinnamon in there and sweet candy sugar. Flavor was’nt quite as good as the aroma, pretty malty and plain, not very good. Suds_McDuff (1013), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston,TX, Texas, USA Jul 12, 2008 best before 06 09 08 ..... looks like diet coke ... pours with a low head ..."ya, whatever mother fucker" ... slightly fizzy on the tongue ... dusty, old golden syrup, calorie free chocolate flavours ... disappointing to say the least... not worth the anticipation or money, so many better belgians out there... ilovedarkbeer (717), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 4, 2008 POurs a dark mahogany color with nice reddish highlights. Fairly large puffy head that shrinks with time. Nose is very malty and sweet but also bread like and spicy. Taste is mild with some spice and malt, nice clean finish and highly quaffable but at the expense of a think mouthfeel and uncomplex taste.
