aromas of bakery fresh malt and some underlying spice. Taste is similar. Very thin almost watery but so very malty. Much better off tap than bottle.

Appearance: light clear amber with a quickly dissipating eggshell head; leaves behind a small collar and a little lacing. Aroma: earthy dark malts, caramel, dark brown sugar, with a whiff of saaz hops. Taste: not as sweet as the aroma indicates; well-balanced and crisp, with smooth lightly sweet malts over the peppery bite of saaz; not too bitter. Finish: crisp, slightly sweet and dry, giving way to lingering spice from the hops. Notes: A very drinkable Belgian ale with a light palate and good carbonation married to well-balanced, if not super-complicated flavors. A workmanlike ale, and pretty sessionable.

On tap at fat cat. The most inert and soulless Belgian Ale I’ve had. Imagine if Anheuser Busch were to make a Belgian Ale - this would be it. Fairly light and smooth mouthfeel with a bit of a weird esther aftertaste. No aroma to speak of. Appearance is a mottled cloudy brown.

Nothing special going on here. Drinkable but not a go to beer. Thin and watery.

Draught in Groningen. Clear amber body, with an average, frothy, white head, mostly diminishing with a good lacing. Moderate malty (caramel) and hoppy (floreal and herbal character) aroma with spicy notes. Moderate sweet malty flavour with some spicy note. Light-to-medium body with a watery texture; lively carbonation. Quite statisfactory.

On tap @ The Cheeky Monk in Denver. Pours a pale coppery amber color, with very light head. Smells of figs, plums, very small hint of cocoa malt, some white grape as well. Tastes like a big soft pretzel, even with that bit of salt. Some pear and/or yellow apple appears in the taste as it warms. Dry and abrupt finish with light, though lively, carbonation. Pretty good, but a mediocre Belgian.

Quite drinkable belgian ale. Sweet but not too much at all. Low hop levels. Serving: Tap

Tap, 25 cl. Amber coloured beer, some light bubbles noticeable, little white head. Smell is malty, spicy, light herbs. Taste is also malty, light sweet, light spicy on the background with a dry finish. Refreshing beer, but not that great in taste or pallet as people from Antwerp want to make you believe, talking about their "Bolleke".
