In bottle. Poured virtually no head. Spicy citrus on the nose. The body consists of a lovely dark caramel hue. Smooth tasting with a little roasted malt on the finish. A tasty pint with deceivingly light body.

Bottle. Pours dark copper with soapy offwhite head. The aroma is peppery spice, rich malt, caramel, and a light fresh floral note. The flavor is mild caramel, some toast, and fresh malt. A touch of yeasty spice is in there also. Very clean. Tasty, if simple.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 mickmac (405) - Ngunnawal, AUSTRALIA - SEP 4, 2010
Bottle. Average white foamy head over a clear dark amber body. Aroma/taste; a washed out desert apple acidity, floral spicyness with a biscuity bitter finish. Light medium mouth feel. Has similarities to English pale ales.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hawthorne00 (1305) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 31, 2010
Clear brown with a small light beige head. Light and cheerful aroma of caramel, apples and nuts. Gentle fruity sweetness with refreshing spicy dryness at the end. A nice enough refreshing drop but at least in the bottle it’s lacking much character.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 taphandle (985) - Texas, USA - AUG 24, 2010
Ark brown, tan head. Aroma of hay. Taste is very crisp and with brown malt - almost a light chocolate flavor. Very carbonated. Very refreshing, but not very deep in flavor.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 ClubGonzo (1732) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 21, 2010
Bottle @ Holland Casino, Amsterdam. Pours a nut-brown, slightly reddish body with a virtually non-existent white head. Smell is very vague, with toffee malts and molasses. Taste is ale yeast, hazelnuts and medium roasted malts. Well rounded but pretty bland all in all, and a typical example of the default "Speciale Belge" by any standards.

Bottle pours a deep amber with a thin off white head with loads of floaties. Scent is light malt. Taste is crisp and light, dry finish. Not all that in flavor.

Pours a cloudy brown with a lot of floating particulate yeast visible. Aroma is barely detectable but I get some ripe bananas and some toasty bread. Apple flavors mixed in with some hints of toffee and malt. Overall, it’s a good brew...
