beerbill (1921), Laurel, New York, USA May 17, 2008 11 2 oz. bottle. Pours a clear copper with a thin linen white head that disappeared after the first sip and left no lace. The aroma was sweet with overtones of overripe fruit. Some caramel in the aroma as well. The flavor was caramel up front with some more overripe fruit sweetness. The sweetness then disappears, and the finish is dry and slightly acrid. Thin on the palate at the finish as well. A disappointing offering. blipp (1632), Newark, New Jersey, USA May 15, 2008 Draft. Pours orange with a thin white head. Light fruity aroma. Medium body. Flavor is mostly sweet with fruits, caramel, and cherry. Ends on a very soft bitter note. Not bad. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA May 13, 2008 Clear amber body with a creamy tan head and big lacing. Aroma is very sweet rock candy and dark fruit. Flavor is very subdued rock candy, raison and doughy. Short somewhat fruity finish. Light bodied, thin texture. WeeObese (18), San Diego, California, USA May 11, 2008 Bottle. Yeasty aroma, pours a copper color, with a one finger white head that disappeared quickly. The flavor is sweet malty up front, then finishes dry and amlost a slight tartness. The palate is thin but that is expected, with a nice lively carbonation. Not the best Belgian I have ever had but at the same time it is very refreshing and drinkable. Gusgus (176), Mölndal, Sweden May 11, 2008 Pours light amber with a thin head and large bubbles. Aroma of ripe peaches and some cloves. Medium body. Creamy. Slightly spicy phenolics and hops. Roasted malt charachter. A bit sour-bitter finish. stouby (1932), Holbaek, Denmark May 5, 2008 Draugt in Antwerp (bolleke).
Dark amber with a small head. Aroma modrate malty (caramel) and hoppy. Flavor moderate sweet and bitter. Light body. A fine ale. Maverick34 (690), New York, USA May 4, 2008 Bottled. A pretty darned average belgian amber. not a whole lot to say here that hasn’t been said. Ljunkan (380), Karlstad, Sweden May 4, 2008 33 cl bottle. I don’t think I have drinked any belgian ale under 6% abv, so my expectations were not too high. As expected this is quite thin, but at the same time the light sour taste was very pleasant and it felt very refreshing. I can imagine to drink this a warm summer day.
