Bhops (329), Dallas, Texas, USA Apr 15, 2008 not a bad belgian ale. On tap at brug beertje, ordered it for the wifey on account of it’s smooth unoffensive qualities. JRHBrew (217), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada Apr 11, 2008 Bottle pours a beautiful amber colour with a small disappearing head. The aroma is sweet, almost fruity and somewhat spicy with a hint of alcohol despite it only being 5%. Very well balanced almost crisp like a pils. Puts me in mind of something like orval meets something like rickards red with a hint of something all its own. Unique brew though not amazing. lagomswedish (213), Umeå, Sweden Apr 11, 2008 Bottle from Systembolaget. I don’t warm to this beer at all. It’s bright, amber and flat. Vaguely yeasty, vaguely cheesy, and vaguely berry-like. Taste is vaguely like far better Belgium ales, and feels artificial, dusty, dirty and a little metallic. mybestfriend (261), Gothenburg, Sweden Apr 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours an amber colourn with a with head. Aroma is some yeast and earthy dirt together with a good amount of (old) tart fruit and some wet fag ends. Flavour is a bit perfumy/yeasty with notes of tart fruits - that lingers on until the finish which have a small amount of bitterness to offer together with some wet fag ends (just like the aroma). A light-weight Belgien that doesn’t seem to want all that much.
Godkänd belgare i den lättare viktklassen som inte verkar vilja så mycket. sleepylopes (313), New York, USA Apr 8, 2008 dark amber with no head. manufactured but decent in a pinch. mixed fruit and nondiscript yeast. Defreni (994), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 5, 2008 Flaske. Ravfarvet øl med et lille skum. Ikke den store duft, og smagen er mest præget af malt med en smule frugt. Ret kedelig øl. ante (2904), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 1, 2008 Bottled. Pours out in a clear amber colour low disappearing white foam. Yeast, dust, red berries, mild cheese and hay in the aroma. Medium-bodied with notes of caramel, yeast, red berries and oranges. Mild finish of yeast, red plums and grass. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Apr 1, 2008 (3/7/08) Draught at ’t Brugs Beertje in Bruges. Clear amber with an off-white head. Weak aroma with some yeast and fruits. Sweetish flavor of some malt, yeast and some fruits. Medium-bodied. Really boring.
