This ale pours with an amber hue and a large head. Nose is really delicate, but shows a touch of spicy/peppery hop character and sweet fruity malt. Flavor is clean, dry and herbal. Better than almost every U.S. amber ale.

A real disappointing part of a gift pack that also included the surprisingly bold De Koninck Blond and the underrated Winterkoninck. Pours a nice colour, raising expectations even more, but just doesn’t have the flavour to back it up. Weak up front and then stale and unpleasant. Kinda like striking up a conversation with a gorgeous woman, but finding out she’s got nothing to say.

Pours light copper red with medium head quickly diminishing without lacing. Rather hoppy nose with some spices and a very faint smokiness. Flavor is malty with a well balanced hoppy bitterness. Medium to thin body. An ok belgian everyday brew.

Pours a deep ruby with a finger size white head. Beautiful crystal clear appearance. Lots of carbonation. Aroma of cloves, allspice and some dried fruit. Sweet on the front with a dry finish and almost no bitterness. Taste is stale and lacks any complexity - a disappointment.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2009 Bottle. Poured a hazy amber into a De Koninck glass with little to no head. Slight hops on the nose, otherwise not much else. Crisp and clean on the palate. Hoppy with mild malts and a nice aftertaste. Slightly bitter. If you sat this next to a Bass Ale in a blind test you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Bottled sampled a while back. Not the best representation of the style.. light on flavor and nose. Good carbonation. Overall rather unmemorable.

Some beerish aromas similar to lambics and some malt in the background. Has a real light amber color with a copper hue. Off white head dissipated with some sign of action and a little sediment. Has a broth taste with some eyewater tea sweetness inthe background. Light to medium bodied and a watery blended resin feel. Definite session beer kind of a mild chewy amber.

light reddish brown colour, filmy foam first taste is just like leffe, but not that complete, hoppy, long-lasting bitterness with some fruity taste simple outside, complex inside pleasent surprise
