| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | May 19, 2006 caramel and dark fruit aroma. a cloudy red beer with lots of huge chunks of yeast floating around. no head. flavor is very mild with some fruit notes and the same burnt caramel in flavor but pretty much tasteless. slightly watery and a really gross looking beer. way too many chunks floating about just like the cuvee, which i hated. it may have been slightly drinkable if i never saw what it looked like. then you towards the end of the beer all you drink is chunks, like pulpy orange juice......gross. quickly becoming my least favorite brewery kimcgolf (828), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 17, 2006 Poured to a bright copper with suspended yeast, absolutely no head or lacing. It had a very weak aroma of some spice, may have been cinnamon. Flavor of cinnamon and hops, but had a dry, sour finish. I have three more, and will try these, but not real impressed with this one, especially for a Belgian Ale. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 15, 2006 Updated: Nov 7, 2007Not good. Pours clear amber with floaties and a quickly-dissipating head. Aroma of stale malt. The taste is acidic; some malt with yeast, but mixed together to form the dreaded sweaty gym sock. Avoid. Stew41 (1049), Caulfield, Australia
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 14, 2006 Hard to believe I’m rating the same beer given the 61% percentile. Rocky head dies down very quickly. Darkish amber in colour, very clear. Nose is malt driven and fits the commercial descriptor well - a text book example perhaps. Palate is a let down, just a bland mixture of bubbles and faint malts. Hints of the Belgian Ale surface early but disappear quickly. Needs to delivery more obvious malt flavour. winegarner (220), san diego, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 12, 2006 Poured from a 33 cL bottle. Amber colored with a thin off-white head. Large amount of sediment present, definately not filtered. Aroma has a certain caramel and biscuit scent, also some light fruit, but not much. Flavor is a bready maltiness followed by a light sweet fruitiness and a nice hop kick. Palate is a little watery with an abrasive finish. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
