HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Sep 19, 2005 Updated: Nov 9, 2005Draught At Pub Italia, Ottawa. Poured clear amber with a big rocky-creamy off-white lasting head. Aroma of yeast, raisins/apples, mild hops, light roast malt and a bit of wheat. Flavour of mild sweet malt, some fruit, sourish grains, citrus - quite smootth with hops notable in the finish. Palate very balanced, not complex, creamy. Overall a terrific quencher and great with food. SkyinBrian (429), Collinsville, Illinois, USA Sep 18, 2005 well balanced ale. for some reason i always end up buying bigger belgians and ignoring some of the lighter more subtle brews that can often be just as satisfying. this tasted good with a light tartness to it. bridge (659), Sydney, Australia Sep 15, 2005 Poured cloudy dark amber with a minimal head, but with an abundance of floaties, maybe due to it being 12 months out of date! The dusty aroma contains some spice, toffee and muscatels. The flavour is well balanced, sweet with some good finishing bitterness. A medium bodied palate with a decent lasting aftertaste. This beer certainly fights above it’s weight of 5%, with plenty of flavour. BeerBlockaid (538), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Sep 10, 2005 Poured like a semi carbonated Maudite. Not a very defined taste, but pretty good and smooth. Dark fruits with a malty fix. Couldn’t really point out any distinctive fruits like plum or raisin or even banana.....The reviews below are really true. Fairly good, but nothing distinctive. marcus (1826), Sacramento, California, USA Sep 4, 2005 On tap at Toronado. This reddish-brown ale poured with a short white head that dissipated quickly, eliciting a funky, malty aroma. The flavor was quite pleasant but not distinctive. jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Aug 25, 2005 Reddish, but clear, in the glass with a half inch of white head. Figs, perfume and raisin on the nose, along with some faint, rich malt aromas. A bit sour on tasting and a little bitter. Some fruit, but not very much stands out. While quaffable, this palate was mixed and short. Its sourness helps the ale stand apart. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA Aug 24, 2005 A desent little belgain but fairly unremarkable. A decent nose and a nice orange/brown color, but not particularly sweet or flavorable. A good beer, but doesn’t standout as much as most belgains i’m used to. andybeer (16), gent, Belgium Aug 23, 2005 Clear orang amber beer with small fast disappearing foam.
Beer is slight fruity and nutty in the nose.
Taste is watery sweet, has a dry caramely caracter, and an unplesant
bitterness in the afthertaste.
