3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle
I have gotten worse freebies than this at hotels before. While not the best beer it has enough flavor that you could drink a couple without getting bored by the lack of depth. Even as a cheap tap I might have tried it once just to try a local beer.
Aroma / Appearance - The carbonated amber body sits below a minimal white head. Almonds, warm toast, and nutella provide the foundation for an odd sweetness that is like a package of Starbursts. Iím not sure what to make of the total package.
Flavor / Palate - The bubbly mouthfeel does become a little tiring over time. Otherwise the almonds and walnut shells are helped by a fruity caramel texture. It does not build to much more than that. If Belgium didnít have so many choices it would be a good local to keep around the house.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
33cl bottle BB112012
Caramel, fruits (not sure the strawberry aroma came from the fruit salad on the table or from the beer itself).
Clear amber, head was quickly gone. A lot of sparkling on the side of the glass.
Sweet taste, waterish, a little hint of fruits.
Slight bitter finish, thin mouthfeel.
Definitely a thurst-quencher.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweetish Belgian ale, pours dark brown with minimal head. Aroma of raisins and dried fruits. Taste is raisins, figs, prunes, etc, but smooth and very drinkable. Finish is dry and dry lingering palate. Good beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
250ml bottle from Abbotís Ale House, enjoyed at home. Pours a hazy amber, with a thin lacy white head, and a good deal of suspended particles visible in the beer. Aroma was initially nice and nutty, but gave way as the head dissipated to geranium, grass, light fruitiness. Taste is a light fruitiness, followed by a medium bitterness, and quite a sharp metallic kick. Aftertaste is quite dry and quite bitter, metal fades away eventually (and thankfully). Quite lively and reasonably full. As you leave the beer sit on your palate after swallowing, it actually mellows out to quite a smooth and refreshing aftertaste, a combination of sweet and bitter fruitiness. Reasonably interesting belgian, I thought, kind of falling somewhere in between a Dubbel and a Belgian style pale. Has its drawbacks, but itís a fine and drinkable beer all the same.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Typical "ok" beer, but nothing special. There are many of this type of beer, and this one is not special enough to end up in my fridge..

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear amber with a white film head and a fruity aroma. Lots of bubbling and a little suspended sediment. light lacing. Yeasty flavor with funky, but good flavor notes from it. A little fruity. Full, crisp, fruity and funky.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I'm surprised that the score is low for this beer. I am honestly not much of an amber fan, but this is a delicious beer. Great aroma of cherry with a smooth, sweet taste hinting at cherry and plum. Very different from US brewed Ambers.

Slecht bier. Zijn reputatie niet waardig. Er zijn veel bieren van kleine brouwers die stukken beter zijn. Een standaard bier meer niet.
