dornoy (679), Lyngby, Denmark Jul 3, 2005 At a restaurant in Antwerp, Belgium. Low white head on an red a,ber body. Well-balanced, slightly bitter taste, perfect with Flemish stew, hoppy, crispy and clean. Easy drink and enjoyable. Otje (668), Leiden, Netherlands Jun 27, 2005 aroma: malty, molasses, caramel, grassy hoppiness. taste: caramel, sweet candy, hoppy, bitterish. finish: bit bitter, bit sticky and fairly long wih apple notes. drinkable. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 26, 2005 Draft at Old Dominion Beer Festival 2005... Crystal clear, deep amber ale. The nose is slightly flemish, tart and breadsy with light notes of banana and clove. The flavor is fairly uneventful, but perfectly balanced. Generously hopped by Belgian standards. Light to medium-bodied and fizzy. Crisp, clean finish. GarethYoung (1110), Glasgow, Scotland Jun 24, 2005 [draught at lloyds in glasgow] like gold colour with a moderate creamy head which lasts reasonably wel. nose is flowery hops with some good malty notes underneath, caramel and there is some yeast in there as well. body is reasonable with a little hoppy bitterness and a very little sourness, im not sure if that is because its the end of the barrel but it lowered the beer a point for me. voota (761), Melbourne, Australia Jun 19, 2005 Poured a medium wite head with poor retention. good lacing. Aroma is quite sweet and malty. Very clean mouthful, well balanced with a low bitterness and some nice malty flavours. Its a little one-dimensional, but still a very nice beer. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Jun 16, 2005 a sim rate: (on tap) It’s got a very metallicy taste... almost overwhelmingly so. Very aley style with a smell that reminds me of rust. Smooth with a bitter finish. I used to really enjoy this beer, but now it seems it has nothing distinguishing really, it’s just beery. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 6, 2005 Bottle from Peace St. Market, Raleigh. Coppery colored with aroma of caramel malt, some cabernet, fruit, and black pepper aromas. Tastes fairly well balanced and complex, with medium body and some dryness in the finish. I would drink this again, and I would jump at the chance to try it on tap. Choos (504), Taylors Hill, Australia Jun 6, 2005 Aroma: some metallic, barnyard, vinegar and malty/caramely aromas. Apperance: clear brown/red with a tan head that quickly vanished. Flavour: metallic, cidery/vinegary with some sweet malt. Complex for what it is.
