Not a bad beer, not a great beer, best on draft in Antwerp, pours into the chalice ir clear red colour is pleasant, no aroma worth dwelling on. It’s easy to drink and better than most of the draught lagers in the less worldy bars.

Bottle from Systembolaget under the A P A name. Malty fruity smell. Similar taste. Has a metallic finish. Not hoppy in case you thought this was an APA, more of a regular belgian ale. A bit rough mouthfeel.

330ml bottle from Systembolaget. Clear amber, big fluffy egg-white head that leaves rich lacing. Malt sweet aroma with caramel, bread yeast, biscuit and cumin. High carbonated with small bubbles, smooth and fizzy mouthfeel. Taste has biscuit, orange, nectarine, nuts. Finish with floral hops.

De Konnick bolleke 5% on tap (2€) at Den Hopsack in Antwerp. Golden brown with a dense beige head that lasts for ages. The nose is bready, spicy & evokes a pound cake. Med-full body with a prickly carbonation. Satisfying bready fruit & spice flavor. A solid belgian brown.

Not bad stuff, but why APA? Amber, rather sweet, light body. Palate something like belgium ale. B@H

Antwaarpse Pale Ale zoals het etiket met een knipoog vermeld. Bier gekocht bij de groothandel en thuis gedronken met H. en B. Helder, amberkleurig bier met witte schuimkraag. Weinig aroma. Sprankelend en toch zacht in de mond. Licht bittere en kruidige smaak. Smaak blijft even hangen in de mond. Ietwat zoetig in de nasmaak. Lekker bier om op een zonnig terras van te genieten.

330ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average to huge, fluffy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty aroma with a fruity touch of cherry, minimally grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is slightly sweet caramel malty, hints of cherry, dry, minimally grassy hoppy overtones. Clear, clean, lifeless.

bottle from Belgium: Really not getting much to be excited about here. standard Belgian fare with suspended yeast and crud around the rim. Light flowery hops and a little brown sugar flavor. Just so so.

Amber color, liquid a bit cloudy and nice head. Light malty (caramel) aroma. In the mouth it is not too sweet as I expected and it is well balanced. I like it.
