Meaty, buttery, mostly sweet aroma with some doughy yeast character. Clear amber coloured body with a low white head that recedes to a thin cover with patchy lacing. Buttery flavour has vegetal notes and a cardboard-like staleness. Some caramel sweetness and herbal hops with mild bitterness. Medium body with fairly low carbonation. Bottle (BB. Nov-06) sampled with MartinT, Olivier_MTL, Rastacouere and Siroy.

Small white head; red-brown body. Faint acidic fruity aroma. Lightly acidic fruity taste with light licorice notes. Dryish watery fruit aftertaste. Decent, but no more, for a supposed Belgian. (0.33l bottle.)

Certainly not impossible that my sample was touched in some way; but I had it on tap at the Map Room, an establishment known for the quality of its service and beer-keeping; so... this was pretty bad. Like a second-rate Orval, all bitterness and dryness but little real flavor. Decent aroma and body, nice head, but this was really hard to put down. Luckily better brews were in store for me..

Nose is rather light - toast, caramel, and light fruity/spicy esters. Pours amber, not a lot of head. The flavor starts toasty and ends with some light fruity notes and yeasty esters. Easy drinking, rather boring. Good with food due to its unobtrusive nature.

Bottle. Pours a clear bubbly orangey-amber with an average size lasting rocky off-white head. Nice lacing. Pretty good looking beer. Mild aroma of malt, fruit, light hops and yeast. Flavour is sweet fruity malt with a mild bitter aftertaste. A pleasant surprise to taste hops in a Belgian Ale. Not terribly exciting but still a well balanced, enjoyable and easy to drink beer.

Bottled(300ml). -Clear amber coloured, medium sized white head, dusty malty nose. Malty, weak hoppy, spicy and mild fruity taste with notes of yeast and caramel, but overal quite thin beer. The worst of 5 beers I’ve tried in Zotte, Amsterdam.

Golden amber, aromas of bready sweetness, something faintly floral. Smooth malty palate, a little perfumy, a little bitter. Very drinkable.

Amber colour and clear. Has a white head, mostly diminishing. Crisp aroma and flavor. Malty and spice.
