Yeasty aroma together with hay hoppiness. Good toffee caramel and spicy fruit flavours. Clean dry finish. Medium body. Thirst-quencher Antwerp-style with a good character. Rune (2863), Tromsø, Norway
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 18, 2007 330ml bottle. Deep, clear brown body under a noisy, off-white foam. Pity that all the foam fades away very quickly. For a short while it had a very nice and inviting appearance. Moderate sweet, malty aroma. Grainy taste added some tart fruits and notes of yeast coming through towards the ending. Alright spelt beer (12.07.2007). DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada

Aroma of caramel, butterscotch and malt, copper, with a small tan head. Flavour is malt, with melted brown sugar, woody notes as well. Well balanced, pleasantly sweet, good bitterness toward the finish. Very nice! Ibrew2or3 (2848), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 13, 2009 Pours clear deep gold with off white head. The aroma is grains, malts and mild vague fruitiness, sort of estery. The taste is smooth with a thin mouth feel. I get graininess, malts, some mild yeast, a touch of apple and other vague fruity notes. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 4, 2006 On tap at the De Koninck brewery pub. Pours copper with a thin white head. Medium body with a fruity malt base and light hoppy finish. Some herbal spice shows in the finish, not overly estery, but mild and subtle. Malts taste like carmelized apples. Carbonation was lighter on this one so didn’t seem as lively. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 18/20 | Jun 3, 2002 Terrific aroma! Not what I expected. It’s not a Belgian-style ale at all. More of a pilsener-meets-ale. The color makes you think it’s going to be darker and maltier than it is. A good session Belgian beer with spicy notes. Recommended. riversideAK (2808), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Nose is rather light - toast, caramel, and light fruity/spicy esters. Pours amber, not a lot of head. The flavor starts toasty and ends with some light fruity notes and yeasty esters. Easy drinking, rather boring. Good with food due to its unobtrusive nature.
