cloudy and murky dark amber body...major sediment present...aroma of major sugar, fruit, spice, and caramel...flavor is similar and is much too sweet...dry and somewhat bitter finish...average palate

Pours an amber colour with a tiny head. Malty aroma, with a subtly yeasty taste. Nothing special here.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2006 Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours copper color with an off-white head, aroma of sweet malts, fruit, and some spices. I didn’t care for the flavor, yet i finished the bottle.

whaleman (2175) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 29, 2005
Golden amber body with a heavy yeast load, abundant carbonation, and a sudsy, almost effervescent white head. Aroma of tart lemony esters, grain, toasty malt, and cherry notes. Sharp, leathery flavor with more citrusy esters and an unexpected hint of Brett. Semi-dry with substantial bitterness in the finish. A basic, straight-forward Belgian ale. Would probably pair decently with most routine meals.

Taste this beer many times the last 20 years. RE-tasted @ 30.04.09. Bottle, 33 cl. Clear amber, with a white head. Aroma malts, some caramel; bit sweet. Medium body. Taste is like an very regular amberale: some sweet start, cramale malts, little hops.

Fruity aroma with hints of baking cake. Light amber in color with athin lifeless head. Thin fore followed by some citrus hop notes that meld into more mellow flavors like raisin, bread and mild spice. Still manages to feel light and alcoholic though for all those heavy flavors and low abv.

Not my favorite Belgian. It doesn’t have that lovely golden ale taste that many do. It’s a good beer, but it’s not what I reach for.
