3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 craftbeerdesign (1831) - Alpharetta, Georgia, USA - NOV 6, 2007
UPDATED: APR 24, 2008 on tap at the Brick Store Pub on 11/4/07. Belgian’s session beer as the menu declared. This is true... at only 5% it is truly a very drinkable Belgian. Not too much going on with this one - a basic drinkable golden ale....
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kiefdog (1826) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 30, 2008
11.2oz bottle from Mr. Dunderbaks (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy dark amber color with a one finger off-white head. Head settles slowly and provides lacing on the glass. Aroma is slightly malty, slightly sweet with notes of fresh rope fruit, aged, musty whisky, and caramel. Bread and yeast are present in the aroma as well. Taste is very similar to the aroma -- sweet malt and caramel notes, bread and yeast, ripe fruit. Medium body with a quick slightly sweet finish.

Bottle. Nose is very nice with hints of apple and malt. First flavors to come out are straw (very strong), wood, and malt. This beer defines the term "earthy". Finish is very mild and clean. The is one helluva mild Belgian Ale.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Defreni (1779) - Husum, DENMARK - APR 5, 2008
Flaske. Ravfarvet øl med et lille skum. Ikke den store duft, og smagen er mest præget af malt med en smule frugt. Ret kedelig øl.

Bottle pours a deep amber with a thin off white head with loads of floaties. Scent is light malt. Taste is crisp and light, dry finish. Not all that in flavor.
