An ale, but ilke a mix between a top and bottom fermented brew which makes for an interesting easy to drink beer. Fresh dusty Saaz hobs, vague aroma of fruity esters, which suits this style nicely, sleightly roasted and a grainy finish. A brew for the masses with a really nice edge.

Tap @ Bier Central, Antwerp. Medium brown colour with good foamy head. Mild caramel malt aroma. Sour vegetable caramel flavour. Quite smooth but sour aftertaste.

Bottle, Dodgy Deli, Oxford. Bronze red pour with a small layer of dirty beige head. Cinnamon and overripe strawberry aroma. Bright carbonation, lots of berry fruit esters, clean malt. A tiny hint of bitterness, and bit of lingering sticky.

From a bottle. Amber/orange color. Nothing notable about the aroma. Boring flavor, some hops and yeast to it. Very thin. Fizzy. Boring. Boring.

You feel a bit sorry for this one. Geez, only 5%, what a whuss. Nice amber colour, bitter nose, but I am not sure what (Styrian Goldings?). It is a good beer to start but not continue a session.

RE-RATE: Rich-looking brown pour fading into a clean amber. Chewy mouthfeel. strong apple in the smell and taste. This would be a good everyday beer...onot too complex but still damn good. Slight bit of tobacco flavor in the finish. ORIGINAL RATING 8-4-8-4-15 4/14/2002: Fruity, hoppy taste. Pretty average as far as Belgians go.

Bottle. Moderate yeasty, bread. Medium red clear body, small white frothy head. Moderate sweet flavour, medium duration. Light / medium body, dry texture, soft carbonation.

Bottle. Pours clear golden color; white head disappears quickly. Smells rather like Grolsch. Nice wheat aftertaste. Not really what I expected though.
