3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 jonno (1307) - JAPAN - JAN 18, 2007
Pours with a beautiful white head, and has a non distinct bitter hops taste. Warms up nicely, but no world beater
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hawthorne00 (1306) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 31, 2010
Clear brown with a small light beige head. Light and cheerful aroma of caramel, apples and nuts. Gentle fruity sweetness with refreshing spicy dryness at the end. A nice enough refreshing drop but at least in the bottle it’s lacking much character.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Nickls (1297) - SE DC, Washington DC, USA - JUL 17, 2011
Bottle. Clear light amber-orange with a white head. Nothing terribly good or bad in the aroma, some light fruitiness, apples, toffee and some yeastiness. Not as dry as I would’ve hoped but there is some earthiness that cuts through some of the fruitiness/sweetness. Lighter body with very tight, bubbly carbonation.

Starts a little sweet, ends a little bitter, with a little sour in between. It’s a belgian ... but it’s no belgian.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 eczematic (1284) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - SEP 6, 2002
I agree with Caesar, this one is fantastic on tap. Really crappy in the bottle though. Drink it in Antwerp! rerate 9/02: well it’s not that astounding but it’s still subtly toasty and nutty and well balanced and goes down nicely on an outdoor seat in an antwerp pub.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 pootzboy (1284) - Hawgville, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 21, 2005
Bottled: poured into a De Konninick goblet...reveals a amber-brown, lightly clouded ale. Good cap retention and good lacing on the glass. Moderately carbonated.
To the nose we get a ripe fruit (plumbs?) smell mingling with caramel, spices and some wet hay...but all reletivley understated...excellent nose. Medium-light body, creamy mouthfeel. Sweetish toffee-like malts mingle with fruity tastes from the yeast and some mild bittering in the finish from the hop mix. This is a light, but flavorful Belgian ale...very,very drinkable...I wish it were available here all year.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 freekyp (1280) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - SEP 6, 2003
Light brown with little head. Sour nose with hints of pear and apple. Initial taste is sour, which quickly mellows. Resiny throughout, this Belgian Ale finishes quietly, almost fading away. Hops do not play a large part in this beer, taking a back seat to the sweet/sour/maple? mix. A bit thinner than most Belgians I've had, but in a drinkable enticing fashion.

11.2oz bottle. clear brown pour - looks like tea. thin tan head. sweat earth and yeast aroma. crisp tart fruit taste. light sour-bitter through the finish.
