2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cobra (1076) - In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA - AUG 30, 2004
11.2 oz. brown, longneck bottle. Freshness date is of 05/12/05.
Poured out a deep copper color, with a minimal head. The head was tan in color, and it faded quicker than it started. It left a smattering of foamy bubbles around the rim of the glass. Aromas are very weak, it’s really hard to pick out anything above the background. Slight stale malt aromas. No hops aromas or flavors either. Mouthfeel is thin, flavors are weak. Tastes like a stale Budweiser. Not much worth trying again. I know I won’t be buying it again.

sweet malty aroma with some spice. Pours a nice golden brown, carbonated with a white foamy head. Flavour is dominated by musty yeast with some light prune notes. Watery, yeast finish. Not a beer to seek out

When there is no "palm" served at the bar, mostly they offer this one in stead. The taste is similar but i still prefer Palm.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 jhumphries69 (1035) - Tyrone, Georgia, USA - JAN 29, 2010
33cl bottle. Pours deep orange/copper with dark gold and brown highlights and a thin off-white head. The aroma is fruity with pears, hints of white wine, and mild oxidation. Subtle notes of hops and yeast in the aroma, too. The flavor is dry and bready with hints of biscuity and cakey bread. There is a strong white wine character and a soft earthiness. Every bottle in this 4-pack tastes oxidized too (light cardboardy blandness). Finish is dry with perfumy esters and notes of white grapes - and a subtle tartness. The mouthfeel is crisp and medium bodied. Overall - maybe it could be a good session beer, but the oxidation in these samples is too distracting. The store I got them from is second to none, so it must have arrived there in this condition. I guess this beer simply doesn’t travel well or age gracefully. I’ve read others say this beer is supposed to be good, so maybe I need to try some in Belgium to see if it noticeably different/better fresh...

Dry, bitter, session beer. Good malty flavour and some sweetness on the lips. Easy drinking and inexpensive.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 ChillCoat (1030) - Concord, California, USA - MAR 2, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2008 Bottled. Pours a dark coppery color with no head only a bit of white lacing. Skunky aroma with a bit of spiciness and some yeast. Thin, watery biscut maltiness with a decent hop bitterness but it all blends into an almost water-like flavor.
