3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheGrandMaster (2308) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 30, 2005
Poured from the bottle and coupled with Wild Boar & Chimay Sausages. A pale brown with a good coverage of head - which laced beautifully down the glass. Aroma was a pleasant sweet malt. One downside was that it was TOO COLD (what a sin), so difficult to get out any flavours, except for the malt. It did melt on the tounge though, not as in your face as some other belgium beers. Also had a nice amount of bitterness.

On tap @ The Cheeky Monk in Denver. Pours a pale coppery amber color, with very light head. Smells of figs, plums, very small hint of cocoa malt, some white grape as well. Tastes like a big soft pretzel, even with that bit of salt. Some pear and/or yellow apple appears in the taste as it warms. Dry and abrupt finish with light, though lively, carbonation. Pretty good, but a mediocre Belgian.
