Visually, a nice head of white foam topping a perfectly limpid and still brass hue.
Slighly sour-smelling, fresh, otherwise..not so much, really.
Balanced with slight bitterness, short, thirst-quenching and generally satisfying.
Here’s a typical example of an objectively low-descriptional beer offering great drinkability and super-quaffing (I know because...) So how to rate this town-brew from the great port of Antwerp? Not a ’grand’ beer, but hedonistically it’s high! jamrun (137), Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 7, 2002 Pretty good, better than I expected, really. I expected more of a farmhouse ale for some reason, but this is spicy, slightly sour or tangy, and has some hoppy bitterness in the finish. I don’t taste as much tartness as some describe in this one, not at all. If anything, it’s still a bit too sweet, and that’s why I can’t drink much of it. I think if it had more alcohol to offset the sweetness a bit, I might like it better. The hops and the spicy carbonation do that to a certain extent, though. I like it, but in very small quantities. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2005 33 ml bottle, from BevMo LaJolla. Pours a beautiful rosy-amber color with a small beige head. Aroma is dusty-toasty malts, with a dry yeastiness and herbal notes. Flavor is dry and bitter-sweet with floral hops and a slight spicy yeast. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. This would be a good one with food, not bad as a European session ale as well. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2007 Pours a cloudy brownish amber in color with a rocky inch-thick off-white head that lasts. Aroma of yeasty bread, fruit (raisins) caramel. Sweet, slightly earthy malt flavor with an interesting dry finish. I don’t know why, but I’m reminded of Boston Baked Beans candy for some reason. Sweet, yet ... not. Oh, well. Very enjoyable at any rate.
