3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Tom Servo (424) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - SEP 20, 2002
Probably better on tap, but the bottle isn’t so bad either. Has a cider quality to it. Must admit I’m not the biggest belgian fan, but this is okay.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 LoveCaissa (873) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 13, 2004
Interesting beer with some very interesting comments: »pilsener-meets-ale« and »lager with a tea bag«! Pretty amber colour. Malty/nutty and floral aroma. Somewhat spicy flavour with a pleasant medium bitter, lightly dry finish. Lively carbonation, but slightly watery palate. Nice and interesting but nothing exceptional. I'll be sure to try it on tap though, if I ever get to Antwerp.

aroma is reminicscent of burning rubber, deep copper hue, burnt malts, some cinnamon like spiciness, brandy tones, soothing and drinkable

Nice reddish-orange color with a decent Belgian flavor. Has a bit of a harsh, slightly metallic aftertaste. Not bad, but not one of the better Belgian beers that I’ve had.

Dark amber. Caramel, nuts, cheese, and alcohol aroma. Malts are dominant in the flavor, but not heavy. Silky finish.

Bolleke Draught. Brown color with a small white head. Slight malt in aroma, not much else. Flavor is yeasty and has spice. There is an ending with sweet malt and slight bitterness.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 whaleman (2175) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 29, 2005
Golden amber body with a heavy yeast load, abundant carbonation, and a sudsy, almost effervescent white head. Aroma of tart lemony esters, grain, toasty malt, and cherry notes. Sharp, leathery flavor with more citrusy esters and an unexpected hint of Brett. Semi-dry with substantial bitterness in the finish. A basic, straight-forward Belgian ale. Would probably pair decently with most routine meals.

Draught at beerbistro. Orange-amber colour with a small head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma and flavour are both quite sweet and malty, with notes of caramel and spice, and some yeastiness in the background. A bit of well-balanced bitterness in the finish. Not a super-exciting beer, but it’s pleasant and a little different from most.
