GregClow (2470), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 27, 2005 Draught at beerbistro. Orange-amber colour with a small head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma and flavour are both quite sweet and malty, with notes of caramel and spice, and some yeastiness in the background. A bit of well-balanced bitterness in the finish. Not a super-exciting beer, but it’s pleasant and a little different from most.
floydian1 (153), FNQ, Australia Jun 28, 2009 Bottle into tulip glass at De Garre cafe in Bruges. An orangey-red beer with a good sized off white head and nice lacing. The aroma is grainy malts and mild lemony citrus. Taste is similar with a medium to light body and an easy drinkabilty. The finish is bittersweet and uncomplicated providing ample refreshment. Better than average. hughie (2732), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Jun 28, 2009 Amber with a small off white head. Sweet, yeasty aroma. Sweet rather fruity taste, a bit thin, but pleasantly dry. Raspberry perhaps? An excellent accompaniment to a typical English cricket picnic of smoked salmon, strawberries and cream, sultry heat and evening thunderstorms. Mutualaid (124), Texas, USA Jun 24, 2009 Pours light brown/amber with a decent white head; little retention in my Chimay chalice. Big malt aromas of biscuit, bread and raisin with almost no recognizable hop bouquet. Very malty up front but that is rapidly replaced by a spicy hop dryness that cleanses the palate and lasts into the finish; leaves a hard water impression in the mouth which suits a pale ale just fine. Too little body which may be a product of filtration or pasteurization, although it may be age. This beer would undoubtedly improve if the brewery switched to bottle conditioning. HenrikSoegaard (3825), Randers, Denmark Jun 18, 2009 Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty slightly bready aroma. MOderate hoppy and light honey notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Fruity notes. Light bitter herbal finish. Oily palate. lumpsowers (235), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Jun 14, 2009 Copper pour, no head, no lacing. Citrus, winy aroma. Flat, cinnamon start, with bitter hops finsih. Low malt balance. Kind of boring, and very flat.
Ibrew2or3 (2402), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jun 13, 2009 Pours clear deep gold with off white head. The aroma is grains, malts and mild vague fruitiness, sort of estery. The taste is smooth with a thin mouth feel. I get graininess, malts, some mild yeast, a touch of apple and other vague fruity notes. ditmier (729), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 4, 2009 2009 Bottle - Thanks beerbill! - Pours a transparent orange with a medium, lasting off white head...aroma is floral fruity malt, peaches with a bit of dry grain...flavour is pleasantly sweet, with a slightly bitter finish...fair amount of carbonation in this one, this could easily be my daily drinker...very tasty... Jerre (1610), Waregem, Belgium Jun 1, 2009 Taste this beer many times the last 20 years.
