In bottiglia. Colore ambrata chiaro, velata, schiuma abbondante.

Bottle. Light golden, hazy, average to large and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty Ė faintly wheaty and sweetish aroma, light caramel and some tropical fruitiness with some grapefruit hoppyness. Body is medium, malty Ė faintly wheaty and lightly sweetish - sweetish flavor, some caramel and light tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel and fruitiness, some grapefruit - piney hoppyness, light alcohol. Nicely hopped Belgian ale. Bit too sweet/too much caramel for me. In the finish bitterness gets bit sharp/soapy.

Fruity aroma, pine apple, tropical, biscuit malts though and interesting yeast. Well developed, light sweet, full mouth feel. Not very bitter. Smooth and drinkable, not quite the freshness I wanted in the aroma. Another high quality brew from these guys! (Sample at NŁetnigenough)

Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours a very hazy blonde with a very large tight head and decent lacing on the glass.

The aroma has some pear, some wet limestone, a little pineapple, and some herbal hoppiness. Itís an odd combo, but itís not dissimilar to many of the other De La Senne beers, and is in fact very pleasant the way itís balanced.

The beer is basically pretty dry with a moderate level of bitterness. Itís got a mild funky earthiness to it and a nice bit of herbal hoppiness. The minerallity is very nice as is the mild spiciness & pineapple.

Totally similar to many other hop forward De La Senne beers, although I wouldnít be surprised if I found out this one was done with Brettanomyces.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, labeled as Schieve Tabarnak #2, ABV 6.3%. Slightly hazy deep golden colour, white head. Aroma of yeast, some alcohol, malts, light fruity, grassy hops, reminds me of a good tripel. Flavour is medium sweet, light floral, malty, yeasty, light fruity, some honey, firm grassy bitter finish with some alcohol bite. Medium-bodied. Good.

Bottle @ La Fine Mousse, Paris - FR. Color: nice intensive dark golden beer with medium carbonation and high white foam. Smell: fruity notes as mango and peach with herbal presence. Malty domination. Taste: Malty taste with good balance of hops and herbal notes fruity taste and small yeast presence. Aftertaste: nice malt presence with herbal and grassy notes. Nice wet bitterness. Really nice beer and good collaboration.

From bottle at Brasserie de la Senne, Brussels. Lightly hazed amber with a fine white head.
Straight up American hops in the nose show a strong grapefruit and pine resin core with minor apricot and orange accents. Malt is pale and cara, lightly toasty, somewhat bready. Fine natural carbonation with soft malt, thatís the highlight. Medium body, semi-sweet, finish is appropriately bitter and a little resinous. Itís certainly well-made, but the ingredients limit the appeal. Yvanís noble-hopped beers are some of the best in the world, he doesnít need to be making the prototypical western resin/grapefruit IPA.
