7/II/2012 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: n/a, brewed: 15/X/11 (2012-113)

Cloudy muddy beige beer, creamy stable off-white head, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of citrus, spices, coriander, hay, dust. MF: good carbon, medium to full body. Taste: malty start, little sweet, tobacco, bitter, flowers, spices, floral hoppiness, little fruity. Aftertaste: fruity bitterness, citrus, quite some grapefruit, very bitter and dry ending. Nicely done!

(33cl from de la senne - labelled as #2) pour cloudy very pale golden with a tall off-white head showing good retention and lacing. healthy yeast, sulfur, very grassy and herbaceous, citrus, grapefruit, pine; pils and pale spicy and bready maltiness, plenty of other spices. average carbonation, light body - oily and creamy mouthfeel, assertive grassy-spicy-peppery finish. seems a lot more belgian than the version brewed at tdd - perhaps an authentic yeast combined to a more herbaceous hop varietal. nice offering!

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, labeled as Schieve Tabarnak #2, ABV 6.3%. Slightly hazy deep golden colour, white head. Aroma of yeast, some alcohol, malts, light fruity, grassy hops, reminds me of a good tripel. Flavour is medium sweet, light floral, malty, yeasty, light fruity, some honey, firm grassy bitter finish with some alcohol bite. Medium-bodied. Good.

Pours clear blond. Very bitter. There’s not much here besides bitterness though. Hops profile doesn’t have a lot of body other than the bitter. Palate is pretty simple. Not bad.

33 cl. bottle @ home – purchased from Hopduvel in Gent: (A) murky, opaque apricot yellow/orange with a creamy, solid white head – (S) thick De la Senne yeast, citrus & floral hops, slight funk & spices – (T) similar thick De la Senne yeast with a slight funk to it followed by floral (majority) with a hint of grass with underlying citrus bitterness, lots of mellow summer hay in here, spices (including coriander), dig the slight funk – (B) yeasty, touch dry, well-carbonated & thirst questing, typical De la Senne (comparable to Zinnebir but better) with a touch something new

(Bottled) Murky golden with a medium, firm head. Spicy nose with coriander and ginger, herby hops, and caramely and pale maltiness. Flavor is herby-hoppy with coriander spiciness and a very dry, long finish. Medium body, fizzy CO2, reasonably refreshing. Something like Saison Dupont with more hops and spices, different yeast, and evend drier finish. Quite nice as such, although I prefer more fruity ones. 2645

Bottle @ home. Hazy yellow to golden colour with a small white head. Smells banana, weizener, yeasty. Tastes grassy, some hops and some pineapple. Quite a refreshing beer. Doesn?t taste like the way it smells. Nice carbo, medium body and a bit dry.

(bottle) pours a murky amber colour with a frothy white head. aroma of apricots and floral hops, slightly barnyardy, with a touch of wheat. flavour is mostly the same, floral hops, dandelions and lemon peel, slightly medicinal, with a touch of butter in the medium-bitter finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

orange, very hazy, looks light. white, slow fading foam, smells bitter ( more than expected ) tastes quite dry, not a big taste, or much bitterness, but it does the trick. standard ( mediocer) IPA i supose .
