UPDATED: JUL 6, 2014 Pours a lightly hazy yellow with a low white head that leaves fair lacing. Nose is spicy, grassy and delivers a pretty good dose of skunk at first. This character dissipates a little after sitting in the glass like others have noted in their ratings. Taste is more bitter than your average saison, offers some spicy flavors and feels saison-esque overall. Body was light, carbonation medium and finish spicy and bitter. I expected a lot more, I guess I would need to sample a fresher bottle sometime.

P.S. A second bottle proved less "problematic" so I’m bumping score to 3.6 from 3.5. This bottle also had a lot less trub in it so maybe that explains it?

bottle shared by mathieuc, thanks dude - you’re the man. pours hazy pale yellow with a very nice creamy if not also frothy white head offering a good retention and some nice lacing. first whiff had unfortunately an appreciable amount of skunky hops - then, miraculously fading a lot. nice juicy fruitiness - oranges, some tropical notes, pils and pale lean spicy graininess, lot of sulfur, nice yeasty features - very peppery, spicy and lemony. bright to moderate carbonation, light body - never watery, dry very spicy finish. i believe a fresher bottle could be excellent!

Aroma of light citrus, tea, dough, pepper, and melon. Appears milky gold with a big frothy white head. Taste is hoppy, slightly bitter citrus, wheat malt. Belgian yeast expression is there. Good but better the last time I had it.

(Rating #5598)

Bottle. Cappuccino foamy white head with nice spotty sticky lacing, light lemon hazy yellow with noticeable rising carbonation. Slight funk, earth, mineral, light fruit, grass, and light fruit rind on the aroma. Some mineral, melon, light fruits, earth, and slight hay in the flavor. Lighter soft body. Yep, this is good stuff.

This beer has a tremendously appealing funk that remains hidden at colder temps. If the beer is too cold it is tasty enough but rather run of the mill. At warmer temps the circus begins. Hops, yeast, complexity all swirling around the funk.

Pours a light hazy yellow with a thick(crazy thick) white head. Aroma of pineapple, grapefruit, earth, grassy notes and wheat. Taste is bitter, like ipa bitterness, citrus and tropical fruits, grainy wheat and funk. This is the most complex, easy drinking saison I’ve ever had. Solid is an understatement.

Just finished mowing the lawn beer on a sunday morning. Pours a hazy straw with billowing whip cream head. Aroma is slight skunk, grass, pepper, pear, and apple. The skunk fades completely after about 2 minutes. Taste is mineral water, light pear, cracker, and pepper. Maybe the most dry beer ive ever had. Absolutely zero sweetness in here which is perfect for a sunday morning. Lives up to the name and is exceedingly crushable. Good stuff.
