Tap at Moeder Fontainas. Amber golden in colour, this is a very tasty hoppy beer. Taste is citrus, and just a hint of spice in the background. Very fresh. Long finish. It is rare to find such a beer of sensible alcohol strength in Belgium - you can do a session on this stuff. Awesome.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
[tap] A cloudy straw gold body with a large, coarse off white head smells of sweet honey and candied orange peel, noble hops, and fruity Belgian yeast. The flavor is much more bitter than the aroma would hint at. There is a fruity orange sweetness up front that fades to the coarse, lingering bitterness on the end. Fruity and yeasty while managing to stay quite dry really gives this one an interesting character. The hop flavor is fresh and distinctly European.

cask Huge, fluffy white head over very faintly veiled orange beer. Dry UK/(USA) hops, very aromatic but also a lot of ureum. Aromatic hopbitter, nowhere overdone, but very clean, despite the presence of both sulphur (UK hops) and ureum (id.). Light, dry, herbal aftertaste. If you search real ale in Belgium, the British way, try de la Senne. And at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, you can even get them on cask. Excellent.

Draft @ Chez Moeder Lambic: slightly hazy going to clear orange with a serious soapy head, smell is lots of hops, sharp citrus, very floral, quite soapy, touch grass & herbal, taste is very strong & bitter floral-ness upfront, going into herbal direction (bitter), orange peel, citrus, soapy, definite esters, hints of yeast & plenty of spices, body is oily & touch soapy, firm carb. not necessarily my kind of bitterness but not bad, recommended for those into herbal/floral/grass type hop bitterness
