On tap at Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Attractive hazy golden pour, plenty of carbonation, overall look that’s frothy and earthy. Tons of peppery spice and yeast in the nose, along with strong doses of hops. Super nice farmhouse session vibe, and that’s precisely what it turns out to be. Hints of flowers in the taste, and not just as a hops descriptor. And while there’s certainly a fruity brightness to the beer, it’s the dry and peppery qualities that come through just a bit more. All to the good, I say.

On draft at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. The beer is a dirty, hazy yellow color with a massive, white, soapy head that leaves ample lacing on the glass. The aroma brings yeast, banana, clove, light spice, slightly sweet malt. The flavor is a tad sharp with a nice bite from the hop character, finishing with a lingering malty sweetness. Thin and light, this beer is easy to drink. Complex, especially considering the 4% abv. Tasty beer, I would have this again.

Enjoyed from Tap@Moeder Lambic. Cloudy amber beer with good size off white head. To be fair I’d enjoyed far too many others before this to give a decent description. Taste was bready and reminded me a bit of Westamalle triple.

On tap at The Trappist. Pours cloudy amber with a foamy off-white head and a burnt malt aroma. There is a very dry light malt flavor that sticks to the palate. I believe this is the driest beer I have ever hd, but very tasty.

Pours a cloudy orange color with a soapy white head. Some sweet tangerine notes on the nose along with a bit of grapefruit zest. Pine and floral hop aromas, bready malt, and a mild sweetness. Tastes of orange, tangerine, and grapefruit hops up front with a light pine bitterness on the finish. A bit on the sweet side for the most part from the bread malt notes.
