Cloudy deep blond color. Good Belgian beer, mellow but with character, spicy. But it has some chicory bitterness.

Hazy amber color, with large head, and good retention. The aroma is balanced and delicate, some hop and malt. The carbonation is gone; it has a good caramel flavor with an accent of toffee; high bitterness, with just a touch of hop resins; very light Belgian character too.
The result is a crossover between a British Golden Ale (fruity) and a Belgian Ale (spicy); the elements are delicate and well blended together.
Well sessionable too.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A Belgian beer I haven’t had, served in the US of A? In proper glassware? Holy cow! What’s going on? Oh wait, I must be at Armsby abbey. Draft. Hazy golden yellow color, huge white head with good retention and solid lacinf. Aroma of raw rising bread dough. Taste is peppery sourdough bread, very yeasty, citrus, bitter straw finish. Absolutely classic.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Monk’s Cafe, Philadelphia. An unclear orange colored beer with a creamy white head leaving lacing. The aroma is rather weak, on the fruity, citrus side. Oranges, citrus peel, some pale malts and a nice, subtle bitterness in the mouth. Medium to full body, dry, and with a nice carbonation. Long, quite bitter finish. A bit boring this one, but quite decent anyway. 150622
