Bottle from trade with ElManana. Sehr dunkelbraunes Bier mit ordentlicher beiger Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr fruchtig, grasig, hopfig, etwas Kaffee. Geschmack zunächst sehr hopfig fruchtig, grasig, im Mittelteil bitterer Kaffee, im Abgang viel Kaffee, Espresso, lecker!

A colabrown beer with a big and beige head. The nose has roastiness, coffee and fresh citrusfruits. Taste is strongly roasted, nice bitterness, some citrusfruits. The end is dry and roasted, coffee and some herbs. Medium bodied, quite strong carbonation. Good balance, roasted black IPA.

Bottle. Pours a rich dark brown, almost black beer with a big tanned head on top. Aroma is malty, loads of licorice and molasses, light grapefruit touches and no yeast detected. One of few Belgian beers without that yeasty aroma. Flavor is nice, full bitterness in your face at the first sip. When the beer warmed up, more complex flavors start to show and beautifully combine the two characters of malts and hops. Lovely licorice presences in the middle, followed by a caramel sweetness, all backed up by a big hoppy, bitter base flavor. Long bitter aftertaste. Very well balanced, good stuff!

Aroma of sightly roasted malt, hint of tropical fruit, caramel, grapefruit, some coffee and chocolate, hops. Flavour is moderate sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Not the most extreme Black IPA, but definitely a nice beer.

Bottle. Black beer, lively white head. Nice aroma of roast and hops. Bitter taste of burned coffee and sharp licorice, with a hoppy bitter aftertaste. Quite dry. Good beer.

Bottle, afraid I can’t remember whence. Dark blackish colour with ruby red depths and a thick long lasting white head. I always struggle to give top marks for appearance but this must be there. Black IPA is strange stuff really. Aromas of bitter roasted malt, herbal hop, aniseed. Very full, lovely to drink, lots of complexity. Moreish bitter finish, perfectly balanced without wrecking the taste buds. These guys are awesome.

Bottle at La Brocante Brussels. Black beer lasting tan head. More a hoppy stout than a black ipa but all the better for that I think. Some roast malt but mostly chocolate. Decent bitterness on the finish. Good beer. A hoppy stout. Touch of chocolate lime on the finish.
